Lenten Service Project

On Friday, March 22, as a way to prepare for Holy Week, we had a Lenten service project at Riverdale, taking advantage of having the priest available for confessions.

Since one of the main focuses of Riverdale is both youth and families, we wanted to provide a service opportunity for the Middle & High School girls to help young families. The girls provided a few hours of free childcare so that young parents could benefit from this and have a date night, so necessary to strengthen marriages. Six families took advantage of the opportunity, even arriving early to avail themselves of the sacrament of penance before their dates.. They were thrilled!

A total of 20 girls gave of themselves to these little ones of all ages! They played games, read to them, etc. Both the children and babysitters had a wonderful time. Several parents were so happy with this opportunity, that they made donations to Riverdale so that it can continue to provide formations to these generous young girls.
